About SB

Sustainable Bungay was formed at the end of a Climate Change conference organised by Emmanuel Church in 2007, and we became part of the worldwide Transition Network in 2008.

In the last five years, we’ve screened many films, hosted twice-yearly Give and Take Days, run the monthly Happy Mondays community cafe and organised car-free days. We’ve worked with Bungay Community Library to created a flourishing courtyard garden based on permaculture principles and hold regular plant and seed swaps there.

Other activities include a sewing group, Bungay Community Bees, a pig club and talks, walks and workshops on plants as medicine. Once a month we meet for Green Drinks at the Green Dragon, where we host sustainably-themed conversations. We also hold an open monthly core group meeting.

If you’d like to get involved feel free to sign up for our google group (there’s a box on the right) or have a look at our calendar and come to an event. If you have sustainable skills to share, from growing plants to cooking food to organising events, do get in touch.

Our quarterly printed newsletter is available from Bungay Library.
